Terms and conditions
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms apply when you use this website, ask us for a quote, book work on your boat or buy from our online chandlery. Marine Services is based in Campoamor, Orihuela Costa, 03189 Alicante, Spain.
1. Using this website
- The information on this website, including our boat-care guides, is general advice. It isn’t a substitute for an inspection of your own boat by a qualified mechanic.
- We try to keep everything accurate and up to date, but we can’t guarantee that the website will always be available or free of errors.
- The text, photos and design of this website belong to Marine Services or are used with permission. Please don’t copy them without asking.
2. Quotes and bookings
- We give you a fixed quote before we start. It is valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise.
- If we find something extra that needs doing, we’ll call you first. We won’t carry out extra work without your agreement.
- Please tell us as early as possible if you need to cancel or move a booking. If we have already ordered parts specially for your boat, we may charge for them.
- You must have the right to authorise work on the boat, and the boat must be accessible and safe to work on at the agreed place and time.
3. Work on your boat
- We carry out work with reasonable care and skill and use parts suitable for your boat and engine. We return old parts on request.
- Our workmanship is guaranteed for 3 months from completion; parts carry the manufacturer’s warranty and the legal guarantee. Tell us straight away if something isn’t right.
- We aren’t responsible for existing faults or wear we couldn’t reasonably have found, or for problems caused by later misuse, accidents, lack of maintenance or work done by others.
- Payment is due on completion unless we agree otherwise. We may keep the boat or parts until the invoice is paid.
- Boats left in our care are covered by our business insurance while we work on them, but you must keep your own boat insured, as Spanish law requires.
4. Rescue and assistance at sea
- We help when we safely can, and we decide whether a call-out or tow can be done safely given the weather, sea state and location.
- Assistance at sea is not an emergency service. If anyone’s life is in danger, call VHF Channel 16 or Salvamento Marítimo on 900 202 202 first.
- Call-outs and tows are charged at the rate we agree with you on the phone.
5. Buying from our online chandlery
- Prices are in euros and include Spanish IVA at 21%. Delivery costs are shown before you pay.
- Your order is a request to buy. The contract is formed when we accept it and either dispatch the goods or tell you they’re ready to collect.
- If an item is unavailable or wrongly priced, we’ll contact you before taking payment, and you can cancel.
- As a consumer you can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, and new goods carry the 3-year legal guarantee that applies in Spain.
- Full details of delivery, returns and the guarantee are on our delivery, returns and shop terms page, which forms part of these terms.
6. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- Otherwise, our liability for any job or order is limited to its price, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses such as lost holiday time or loss of use of the boat.
7. Your information
We use your personal information as described in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
8. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you have a problem, please contact us first at info@marine-services.es and we’ll do our best to put it right. Consumers can also use the courts of their place of residence and the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
